Every year, Loy Yang Power offers work opportunities to many GGT/AV apprentices and trainees, in a diverse range of trades. Loy Yang's active interest in supporting Australian apprenticeships is a vital contribution to the economic development of the Gippsland community.

Our links with other education and training providers, in Australia and overseas, helps ensure that the range of training services we offer complement other education pathways for apprentices and are responsive to industry needs.
We are pleased to be partners with universities, TAFE colleges, employer groups such as the Australian Industry Group and many dozens of schools. We also have international educational partners, with whom we exchange ideas, consult, engage in joint projects and offer training and education solutions to.
THE GIPPSLAND EDUCATION PRECINCT (GEP)

The GEP was designed to provide a full education and training service from a single site (located at Monash University Gippsland campus). It offers Gippsland students access to an unsurpassed range of career pathways, training programs and tertiary education options.
From the GEP, we :
- deliver accredited training in the Automotive and Engineering trades to apprentices and VET students;
- conduct all of our recruitment of apprentices in the Gippsland and East Gippsland regions;
- provide Australian Apprenticeships Centre services to the public.
We are also pleased to be involved in the management of the GEP, including its financial and ICT resources.
The GEP was officially opened for business in 2006 by the Hon. Lynne Kosky (Victorian Minister for Education) and the Hon. Gary Hardgrave (Commonwealth Minister for Vocational Education and Training). Today it provides innovative cross-sectoral education and training to many thousands of Gippsland students.
