Latrobe City has a long association with Gippsland Group Training Ltd, dating back to the company’s beginnings in the eighties.
Over that time, Latrobe City has offered continuous support for our organisation, both through the hosting of business trainees and as a valued Member Organisation.
Cr. Darrell White is a long serving member of our Board of Directors, and brings to GGT/AV's governance a great deal of experience and understanding of the region's needs.

On 17 April 2008, GGT-AV hosted its first annual Apprentice Awards Evening to recognise the achievements of some of our high performing apprentices and their host employers.
Around 65 of our apprentices and trainees were nominated by their field officers and instructors for an award. All of the apprentices who were nominated received an invitation to the event, along with their families and their host employer.

GGT-AV Apprentice Awards Evening - Thursday 17th April 2008
GGT-AV is pleased to announce that we are commencing an Annual Awards night to recognise the achievements of some of our high-flying apprentices and trainees.
The event will be attended by around 65 apprentices and trainees from both Gippsland and Melbourne regions who have been nominated by their field officers and instructors for awards. Apprentices’ family and host employers will also be invited, as will a number of guests of the organisation. Refreshments and drinks will be served throughout the evening.

LAUNCH OF GGT-AV NEWSLETTER
We are pleased to announce the launch of GGT-AV’s first e-newsletter, which will be provided to all of our host employers and Member organisations on a bi-monthly basis.
The newsletter has been produced in response to requests from hosts for regular updates on what is happening at GGT-AV and major events that may affect host placements.

HOST EMPLOYER OPEN DAYS – March/April 2008
Our Training division is proud to extend an invitation to all of our host employers to visit one of our training centres in March or April this year.
GGT-AV is a Registered Training Organisation, which means that (like a TAFE) we are qualified to deliver nationally accredited trade training to apprentices.

University degrees for our apprentices!
In partnership with Monash University, GGT has just launched the Diploma of Foundation Studies program for our apprentices. This innovative program is an Australia-first and actually allows our apprentices to study towards a full Bachelors degree, while they complete their apprenticeship!
