Gippsland Group Training

Latrobe City

Latrobe City has a long association with Gippsland Group Training Ltd, dating back to the company’s beginnings in the eighties.

Over that time, Latrobe City has offered continuous support for our organisation, both through the hosting of business trainees and as a valued Member Organisation.

Cr. Darrell White is a long serving member of our Board of Directors, and brings to GGT/AV's governance a great deal of experience and understanding of the region's needs.

Australian Apprenticeships - Apprentice Services
An Australian apprenticeship is a great way to get started in your dream career. At Apprenticeships Victoria (AV), we are here to make the process as easy and informative as possible. Our professional, helpful staff know about every type of apprenticeship and traineeship in Australia, and can provide you with information on each one. The first step in any Australian Apprenticeship is to find an employer who is prepared to sign you on as their apprentice. We encourage individuals to actively seek an employer who can offer them employment consistent with their interests. In some cases AV may also be able to assist you to find an employer. Once you have an employer, give us a call and we will take care of the rest.

How we can help

Our AAC staff have assisted many thousands of apprentices in starting their apprenticeship. We handle all the paperwork and can advise you about entitlements or incentives you may be eligible for. Our field staff are happy to come to you and your employer in the workplace, and (best of all) this service is entirely free!

Amongst other things, we can :

    Help you to locate an employer in your industry;
    Sign you up into a Training Contract (which formally starts your apprenticeship);
    Manage all of the administrative paperwork involved in getting your apprenticeships started;
    Provide advice on qualifications, such as their duration, costs involved, employment prospects and the training involved;
    Visit your workplace at any time to assist you with questions about your apprenticeship or traineeship;
    Help you to find a Registered Training Organisation to deliver the training component of your apprenticeship;
    Advise you about your rights and responsibilities, employment conditions and entitlements;
    Assist in the resolution of any disputes or issues with your employer;
    Help you to claim the maximum amount of financial incentives that you are entitled to as an apprentice.
